NEW YEAR: NEW BLOG

What's going on everyone, welcome (back?) to my blog! I hope that you guys enjoyed their new year, 2017 is going to be a good one!

As you can tell, I've rebooted my blog and would like to keep it up to date as much as possible from now on. I've relocated all of my older blog posts into an archive you can find here. Ideally I would be posting about every other week or so, and check in with more photos to share. Being on top of my social media accounts and frequenting my website is a top priority this year! Things I’ll be talking about in the next few posts will feature some of the gear I'm shooting with, bit of my editing methods, and maybe why I recently switched to prime lenses full time. Other than that, expect some exciting up coming photoshoots I'll be collaborating on with some pretty lovely people and my experiences photographing them. My availability and focus for this website is better than it has been in the last few months or so and since I've been inquired to shoot some more portraits, I felt it would be appropriate to try and bring you guys along for the ride this year. So, this means a lot more photos and blog posts...

And here we go! I'd like to start off the new year with some of my resolutions. A given one is to shoot more and update the blog as much as possible. However, I feel like there are more tangible things needed to be worked on this year in my personal life. Paying it forward is a huge one for me. What I mean by this is always be in a giving mode/mood. I believe it goes full circle when you project productivity rather than having all of these expectations to go your way. I'm learning each day to count my blessings rather than demand everything to go exactly how I think it should go. And to do this, it starts with giving what you can to others first and taking care of what you can control.

Another resolution is being smarter about who I work with. It's important to make sure the people you are working with are involved and know their role. You never want to depreciate anyone’s abilities especially if they're working towards a common goal and you don’t want to take them for granted. On the contrary, you also don’t want to be taken for granted for. Which goes back to paying forward. Catering to people who get what you want to achieve and have similar philosophies is something I’ll be thinking of this year. And that includes creating art that I’m confident in sharing as well as feeling great about the work I’m producing. The last resolution I can think of before I close out this post is to carefully plan out shoots and have a sense of purpose along with the vision of who or what I’m photographing. Often times I find myself distracted by good shots, when I should be focusing on great ones - ones that include stories of depth and show more emotion than a set up head shot. So look forward to more series of photos I’ve planned out for the year that I’m excited to share. I have exactly the next 365 days to accomplish these goals, so lets make it happen! I'm happy to share more photo work rather than these long and lengthy blog posts in the near future, but I just wanted to make sure that everyone knows I’m not going to be living under a rock!
